Mechanical Engineer

Duties

• You will coordinate the efforts of technical area experts who are available to assist with the technical aspects of the project and help address technical issues.
• You will conduct systems engineering with a direct role in test planning and test engineering.
• You will work on a diverse team engaged in Defense Acquisition program management activities.
• You will communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

• You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band (
NH-02
) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate: Serving as a technical expert for engineering concepts including, but not limited to:
Conducting test planning and test engineering, requirements analysis, requirements verification, functional analysis, functional verification, synthesis, design verification, systems analysis, OR systems control and the development and delivery of associated systems with engineering artifacts.

Basic Requirements for 0830: A. Degree:
Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor’s degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses in five of seven areas of engineering science or physics as described in the original document.

OR

B. Combination of education and experience – college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding of the engineering sciences and techniques. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following:
1) Professional registration or licensure;
2) Written Test;
