The mission of the MSTP is to provide training in MAGTF operations across the range of military operations, within the context of a Joint and/or Combined Task Force environment, to improve war fighting skills, with the main effort of providing training and support.
Job Summary Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking a Command & Control (C2) systems (Joint Automated Deep Operations Center (JADOCS)/Joint Tactical COP Workstation (JTCW)/Global Command & Control System (GCCS) Tactical COP Server (TCS)/Theater Battle Management Core Systems (TBMCS)) Systems Administrator who must possess strong problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills, in addition to in‑depth technical knowledge of the Government's systems' hardware and software.
The C2 Systems Administrator studies program operating instructions to determine equipment setup and operations, continuously observes the operation of assigned applications and storage devices to monitor system operation, and determines the point of hardware or software failure. This position manipulates systems in accordance with standard procedures to continue operations when individual units of a system malfunction. Conferring with software systems engineering or applications programming personnel if errors require a change of instructions or sequences of operations.
Maintaining operating records such as machine performance and production reports and system logbooks. This position shall be responsible for ensuring system availability and reliability of the MSTP C2 systems (JADOCS/JTCW/GCCS‑TCO/TBMCS) on the networks. The C2 Systems Administrator reports to and receives work direction from the MSTP C2 Section Head.
- Plan, install, and configure system software, patches, and upgrades, analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving system hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Configuring, optimizing, fine‑tuning, and monitoring operating system software and hardware.
- Experience with Windows and Red Hat operating systems.
- Maintain servers and clients, ensuring functionality of the systems and external interfaces.
- Experience with virtualized systems.
- Performing system backups and recovery.
- Conducting server and client builds.
- Establish complex operational databases, software configuration control and systems.
- Set up interfaces with other C2 systems and/or simulation systems.
- Maintain file servers, network access; document, analyze, and troubleshoot system anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance.
- Educational requirements:
BA/BS or equivalent. Candidates may substitute substantial, relevant experience for education for this position. - Certification requirements:
DoD 8140.01 IAT II; SEC+.
- A minimum of 2‑4 years of related experience.
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
- Possess a thorough understanding of all aspects of Operations and technologies.
- Abreast of industry developments and applicable Government regulations.
- Make recommendations for enhancing services.
- Research operational issues and provide mitigation recommendations.
- Strong oral and written communications, analytical and problem‑solving skills, as well as excellent judgement and self‑motivation.
- Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Work independently with little to no supervision, researching new technologies or comparing technologies to meet the customer’s need while providing an unbiased opinion.
- Working knowledge of network and information exchange technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, RESTful, SOAP and HTTP).
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Normal Office Environment. Travel: 10‑15%, mainly to Camp Pendleton, CA;
Camp Lejeune, NC;
Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan.
