PositionDescription:
Think Tek is seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to support a dynamic defense Program Management Office. The ideal candidate will support systems engineering efforts, provide configuration management expertise, and stakeholder coordination to enable mission success. This role serves as the bridge between leadership, program teams, and stakeholders ensuring alignment of strategy, engineering activities, communication, and project milestones. Due to the required duties this individual would be expected to support onsite in Quantico, VA.
Key Responsibilities:- Engineering Documentation & Configuration Management:
Develop, maintain, and update engineering-related documentation in accordance with established policies, standards, and guidelines. - Maintain alignment with systems design and business objectives.
- Draft and maintain technical documents and provide knowledgeable input into required engineering deliverables.
- Review, manage, and update system engineering architectures to ensure infrastructure supports the solution throughout its lifecycle (fielding, operations, and maintenance).
- Ensure requirements traceability through a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) or similar tools.
- Provide professional technical advice and recommendations regarding computing environments and engineering activities.
- Provide recommendations on best practices for cloud environment design (Microsoft Azure) and operation.
- Facilitate and support systems engineering technical meetings by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in defining, developing, and maintaining engineering strategies, plans, and schedules.
- Facilitate coordination across engineering, operations, and program management teams.
- Identify system risks early and suggest mitigation steps.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions.
- Skills & Competencies
- Must have experience in configuration management and technical baseline maintenance.
- Proficient in contributing specialized knowledge to operational.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Clearance
- Minimum Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
- Education & Experience
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related technical field). - Experience:
5+ years of experience in systems engineering, ideally supporting federal or defense programs.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Familiarity with Marine Corps, DoD business processes, policies, and/or IT systems.
- Personnel well-versed in DoD systems engineering policies and practices, including those outlined in the DoD 5000-series and applicable Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) guidance.
- International Council of Systems Engineering (INCOSE) or Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.
