Koniag Technology Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a Top-Secret clearance to support KTS and our government customer in Quantico, VA. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

The Electrical Engineer will have essential multi-discipline team representation and be self-motivated, well organized, design oriented, and customer focused.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Act as a consultant in the establishment of design standards and criteria for construction projects.
• Provide expert electrical engineering comments based on these requirements.
• Review electrical design drawings and specifications related to lighting system, lighting control system, power system, power distribution, grounding, lightning protection system, generator, and UPS system for commercial, government, and data center facilities.
• Select lighting fixtures and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Perform the electrical demand load calculations and generator load calculations.
• Select electrical equipment, size conduits, perform electrical panel load calculations, create, and review product specifications, create and review design layouts for electrical systems.
• Organize and conduct site visits for data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components, and materials for projects.
• Provide recommendations to clients and team members.
• Troubleshoot electrical system issues.
• Interpret National Electrical Code and communicate with A/E firms, internal teams, and clients.
• Understand design criteria and standards for projects.
• Work with the project manager for electrical design reviews.
• Participate in quality control and assurance during construction.
• Assist in writing scopes of work for projects.
• Perform construction administration duties like reviewing RFIs, field reports, and submittals.
• Size transformers and understand riser diagrams.
• Design power for data communication equipment.
• Layout cable trays efficiently.
• Coordinate with A/E firms.
• Understand door hardware and conduit conditions for systems.
• Read photometric site plans and verify accuracy.
• Size and layout UPS systems.
• Review sound masking and PA systems.

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or architectural engineering.
• 10 years of experience in building electrical system design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Top Secret Security Clearance.
