M&S Maneuver Analyst (Part-Time) with Security Clearance

Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking a Modeling and Simulation – Maneuver Analyst to collaborate with a team of analysts in the research, creation, modeling, and analysis of military systems to quantify the performance and impact of operational concepts and tactics. The role requires a U.S. Citizen with a Secret‑to‑Top Secret security clearance and a Part‑time on‑call schedule.

Location: Various (Camp Pendleton, CA; Camp Lejeune, NC; Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan). Expected travel 15‑20%.

• Create, modify, and install databases for simulation systems used in MSTP exercises.
• Ensure the simulation system or federation supports training exercises and advise on technical issues.
• Prepare written simulation control plans for all MSTP exercises.
• Maintain and design simulation system response‑cell diagrams.
• Provide functional expertise as a Fires Instructor Controller.
• Familiarize with training audience OPORD to facilitate response‑cell operations.
• Develop and rehearse structured orders to accurately represent training operations in simulation models.
• Establish simulation federations and databases to represent all forces.
• Conduct operational testing to evaluate simulation databases and parametric data (weapons, equipment, personnel, asset performance) for exercises, wargames, etc.
• Train subordinate unit response cells on M&S procedures and monitor adherence.
• Recommend event adjudications and mitigation actions during MSTP exercises.
• Report events requiring adjudication to the Senior Controller or Simulation Control Officer.
• Inject, document, and report MASTER Scenario Event List actions during an exercise.
• Submit software trouble reports and engineering change proposals.
• Submit comments on exercise issues and recommendations for the M&S after‑action report.

• Mid‑Level: Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) with 3+ years of direct relevant experience.
• Experience with MAGTF Tactical Warfare Simulation (MTWS).
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook.
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

• Normal office environment with 15‑20% travel to Camp Pendleton, CA;
  Camp Lejeune, NC;
  Camp Courtney, Okinawa.
