The Repair Technician is responsible for the operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of MCTIS hardware, networked systems, peripherals, and associated training support equipment. This position ensures high system availability, reliability, and operational readiness in support of USMC training events. The technician provides hands‑on technical support across multiple training environments, coordinates maintenance actions with site leadership, and ensures compliance with contract requirements, safety regulations, cybersecurity policies, and manufacturer specifications.

The role requires strong technical proficiency, disciplined documentation practices, and the ability to operate independently in both MCTIS Site location and field environments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reports to the contract Project Manager in all matters concerning operational support to MCTIS at the fielded locations and assigned Satellite Incidental Training Site activities.
  • Perform operational checks and maintenance of Live, Virtual, and Constructive training systems to include performing preventative maintenance tasks on simulators, gear, and equipment associated with simulation systems.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on MCTIS hardware, servers, workstations, displays, simulators, peripherals, power systems, and network components.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair system faults to restore operational capability with minimal downtime.
  • Install, configure, and validate replacement hardware, components, and software updates in accordance with MCTIS baselines.
  • Execute preventive maintenance schedules in accordance with OEM guidance, contract requirements, and site SOPs.
  • Maintain system readiness levels to meet training timelines and mission demands.
  • Identify emerging issues, lifecycle concerns, or equipment degradation and recommend corrective actions.
  • Accurately document maintenance actions, fault reports, parts usage, and system status in approved logs, databases, and reporting tools.
  • Assist with inventory accountability for MCTIS equipment, spares, tools, and consumables.
  • Provide input to maintenance metrics, readiness reports, and after‑action reports (AARs).
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with MCTIS Operators, Site Lead, and other technical staff.
  • Provide technical assistance during training operations, including rapid response to system issues.
  • Support site setup, teardown, and reconfiguration for training events, exercises, or system upgrades.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements, including electrical safety, lithium battery handling, ESD controls, and range safety procedures.
  • Comply with cybersecurity, information assurance, and physical security requirements for MCTIS systems.
  • Support operations in field environments, including ranges and remote training locations.
  • Travel CONUS/OCONUS as required to support MCTIS operations, maintenance actions, or surge requirements.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights or weekends, to meet mission requirements.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
EDUCATION
  • Military experience maintaining Live, Virtual, and Constructive training systems.
  • 5+ years of experience with Tier 3 technical support.
  • Technical school, associate degree, or military technical training in electronics, information technology, or a related field preferred.
