About the Role

The Network Administrator plays a critical part in supporting DOJ’s NOC, contributing to secure, modern, and resilient enterprise environments.

You’ll collaborate with technical teams, leadership, and federal partners to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in structured environments, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to support high-impact federal work without getting lost in a massive company.

What You’ll Do
  • Monitor enterprise networks for traffic anomalies, service disruptions, and regional outages using approved network monitoring tools
  • Respond to router and switch alarms, diagnose root causes, and restore network services
  • Support Cisco-based and Linux-based routing platforms in a secure, mission-critical environment
  • Remotely access routers, switches, Type 1 Encryption devices, and related network equipment to provide operational support
  • Troubleshoot network issues impacting deployment kits and resolve connectivity and performance problems
  • Manage outages, bandwidth utilization, and peak traffic; generate trend and performance reports using NMIS tools
  • Execute configuration changes, firmware upgrades, and device updates in accordance with FBI-approved change management processes
  • Implement port-security and network hardening changes to maintain security and compliance requirements
  • Create and maintain accurate network diagrams for new and existing deployments
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to Tier 3 engineers while providing detailed technical documentation
What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain FBI suitability
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting data or telecommunications networks in an enterprise environment
  • Current certification in an applicable field, such as:
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CCENT
  • CCNA
  • CompTIA A+
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience supporting enterprise network environments

Hands-on experience with:

  • Cisco routing and switching technologies
  • Linux-based routing platforms
  • Network monitoring and management tools, including Network Management Information Systems (NMIS)
  • Enterprise routers, switches, and Type 1 Encryption devices
  • Video teleconferencing systems and networked collaboration tools
  • Firmware upgrades, device configuration changes, and port-security controls
  • Network documentation and diagramming tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively in secure, fast-paced federal environments while following established change management and security processes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional industry certifications, such as advanced Cisco or security-related credentials
  • More than 2 years of experience supporting enterprise or federal network environments
  • Experience supporting FBI, DOJ, or other federal law enforcement networks
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills in regulated or compliance-driven environments
