Overview

Join Life Cycle Engineering in support of the NCIS IT support services mission headquartered in Quantico, Virginia. The Information Technology Directorate (ITD) supports the NCIS core mission areas to investigate and defeat criminal, terrorist, and foreign intelligence threats by planning for and providing services through appropriate use of the people, equipment, technology, and infrastructure resources of the United States (U.S.) Navy and Marine Corps.

Position

Summary

As a User Support Specialist, you will and operate a centralized service desk and oversee user support and help desk specialist resolving request/problem incidents. This position is expected to start in Q3 of 2026.

Clearance Requirements

Must have an active DoD Top Secret /SCI Secret Clearance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Ensure all tickets are properly resolved as quickly as possible.
  • Coordinate technical support from other administrators and developers as required.
  • Measure effectiveness of incident/problems to determine resolution rates, potential system wide issues.
Required Education, Skills, and Experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience, of which at least five years must be specialized. Specialized experience includes management of help desks in a multi-server environment, comprehensive
  • Security Plus certification (Security+) or equivalent.
  • Minimum Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification at start.
  • Knowledge of PC operating systems, e.g. Windows, as well as networking and mail standards and supervision of help desk employees.
  • General experience includes information systems development, network and other work in the client/server field, or related fields.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing and a positive customer service attitude.
  • Experience in the day-to-day operation of a service desk.
  • Experience with customer relationship management.
  • ITIL training and/or certification a plus.
Physical Demands and Expectations
  • Travel will be required to support this task (up to 25% travel)
  • Regular physical activity to include walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting (up to 30 pounds), and standing; occasional prolonged sitting
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
