Job Overview

Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking an Aviation Analyst for the MAGTF Branch SAG of MSTP to provide support to MEF/MEB‑level exercise design, planning and execution. The mission of the MSTP is to train and educate Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) and Marine Expeditionary Brigades (MEB) Command Elements to conduct operations across the range of military operations within the context of a Joint, Combined, or Coalition environment.

Full‑time.

• Provides functional subject matter expertise to examine and assess MAGTF level organizations, identifies friction points, offers solutions, and drafts procedures for improvement.
• Conducts observation by assessing MAGTF processes, reviewing operation orders and procedures.
• Plans, develops, coordinates and delivers operational‑level, regionally focused MAGTF relevant instruction, training and education.
• Supports various academic programs including the Brigadier General Selection Orientation Course (BGSOC) Senior‑Leader Seminars, the Marine Corps University (MCU), and other service schools.
• Captures relevant data and processes through observation, analyzes information, and records findings in a final after‑action report and final exercise evaluation report.

• Prior military pilot or navigator, Naval Flight Officer, Electronic Warfare Officer, or Electronic Countermeasures Officer.
• Knowledge of, and operational experience with, deploying and employing ground combat, aviation, supporting arms, and combat service support units and related equipment.
• Knowledge of, and operational experience with, military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at the operational command level.
• Detailed and functional knowledge of Marine Corps and joint/combined Planning Process and Marine Corps and joint doctrine related to air operations.
• Senior staff planning experience in Joint Operations Planning Process and/or Marine Corps Planning Process at COCOM, JTF, MEF, Wing, or AOC supporting air operations.
• Knowledge of Joint/Combined Air Operations Center (J/CAOC).
• Experience writing orders in USMC and Joint planning formats.
• Knowledge of command‑and‑control systems related to Air Tasking Order processes.
• Completion of professional military education such as Command and Staff College or War College.
• Knowledge of, and operational experience deploying and employing aviation and/or aviation support units.

• Mid/Senior‑Level – Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 15+ Years Direct Relevant Experience.
• Experience integrating air operations into USMC/Joint exercises.
• Proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook.
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  Normal Office Environment.

25–40%, primarily to Camp Lejeune, NC;
Camp Pendleton, CA; and Okinawa.
