Systems Engineers SME – TS​/SCI

Description Systems Engineer SME – TS/SCIXcelerate Solutions is currently seeking a SME Systems Engineer for this effort will be responsible for building, maintaining, and providing guidance for integration with hosting environment for NCIS Mission Applications.

Location:

Quantico, VA. Hybrid remote schedule. Must be local and able to meet onsite 1-2 times per week or as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows operating systems to ensure optimal performance, security, reliability, and availability across enterprise environments.

Design, develop, implement, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, and similar automation technologies.

Configure, deploy, manage, and optimize containerized applications and orchestration platforms, including AWS Fargate, Azure Containers, SUSE Rancher Prime RKE2, or equivalent technologies.

Implement and maintain service mesh and service discovery solutions using Hashi Corp Consul, Apache Zoo Keeper, AWS Cloud Map, or similar technologies to support application connectivity and scalability.

Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Open Tofu, or comparable tools to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment.

Integrate Dev Sec Ops  principles, security controls, and automated compliance checks throughout the software development and deployment lifecycle.

Manage application and infrastructure deployments across on-premises, commercial cloud, government cloud, and hybrid environments, including FedRAMP-authorized and other secure cloud platforms.

Collaborate with Mission Application developers, engineering teams, and cybersecurity personnel to design scalable, secure, and compliant application architectures.

Provide technical guidance to development teams on solution architecture, deployment strategies, infrastructure requirements, and compliance with organizational policies and federal security regulations.

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues, and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and system reliability.

Support system security accreditation and compliance activities by implementing required security controls, maintaining technical documentation, and addressing identified vulnerabilities.

Develop and maintain automation scripts, standard operating procedures, system configurations, and technical documentation to support consistent and repeatable deployments.

Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure automation, deployment processes, system resiliency, and overall Dev Sec Ops  maturity.

Work collaboratively with cross-functional technical teams to support mission-critical applications and ensure infrastructure solutions align with operational and security requirements. Minimum Requirement:
High School with 10+ years (or commensurate experience)

Clearance Required:

Top Secret/SCILinux and Windows systems administration CI/CD Pipeline creation/deployment/maintenance (Ansible/Jenkins/etc.)Container Orchestration configuration, management, and operation (Fargate, Azure Containers, SUSE Rancher Prime RKE2, or similar)
Service Mesh and Discovery configuration and operation (Hashi Corp Consul, Apache Zookeeper, AWS Cloud Map, or similar)
Infrastructure-as-Code utilities (such as Terraform/Open Tofu or similar)
Dev Sec Ops  familiarity and/or accreditation.
