Job Description
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Electrical Coordinator coordinates work related to the Collector System and/or Substation and ensures permits are obtained. They act as an expert in the development of collector systems and optical cables, travel to construction sites on a rotation, and support multiple sites across Quebec. This full‑time role is based on a construction site and requires a high level of geographic mobility and availability for a rotational schedule, with benefits provided to those residing more than 120 km from the work site.
Qualifications- College diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or relevant experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in similar functions in large civil projects.
- Experience with manifold substations or systems and/or high‑voltage installations is an asset.
- Proficiency in spoken and written French.
- Intermediate proficiency in spoken and written English for coordination meetings and progress updates to English‑speaking stakeholders.
- Good command of Office Suite, especially Excel.
- High geographical mobility and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work in a team, with autonomy and leadership.
- Ability to adapt to a stressful environment and weather fluctuations at the construction site.
- Consult the Superintendent of Electrical Works (collector system and/or substation).
- Execute the quality plan throughout labour inspections.
- Act as an intermediary between contractor and subcontractor regarding the quality of electrical work.
- Identify quality problems and deviation points.
- Recommend solutions and stop any activity that contravenes quality or environmental constraints.
- Oversee issue resolution until fully resolved.
- Write non‑conformance reports, if necessary.
- Support project members in implementing the quality plan.
- Ensure validity of quality‑related documents and control them.
- Conduct independent inspections per Enforcement Procedures and ITPs.
- Ensure that those responsible for subcontractors’ inspections do their job.
- Ensure all materials used are compliant.
- Monitor receipt of equipment and inventory.
- Compile and interpret data and statistics related to the work performed.
- Identify issues and monitor corrective actions.
- Produce, with the Superintendent, end‑of‑project records based on progress.
- Minimum of 4 weeks of vacation beginning on day one.
