As an Estimator within Pomerleau’s Civil & Infrastructure division, you will play a key role at the heart of the Earthworks business unit. You will support the growth of new and ongoing projects by challenging industry standards through your expertise and knowledge of the trade. You will be involved in large-scale projects ranging from $1.5M to over one billion dollars, across various areas of expertise, including sewer and waterworks, wind farms, dams, and roadwork, as well as other projects carried out in synergy with the organization’s different business units.

By working closely with our proposals team and diverse client groups, you will actively contribute to securing competitive bids and ensuring the overall success of our projects.

What you will do
  • Contribute actively to the bid process cycle.
  • Identify project-specific pricing for labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Accurately interpret technical specifications with a keen eye for detail.
  • Perform thorough quantity take-offs to ensure precise contract specifications and pricing.
  • Maintain a focus on client pricing requirements to ensure project feasibility.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with trade partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals.
  • Explore innovative solutions and opportunities within the scope of the project.
This role could be for you if you have
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant estimating experience in the construction industry.
  • A university degree, college diploma, or certificate in engineering or construction management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A proven track record in project coordination and team collaboration.
  • Experience in building relationships with industry and project stakeholders.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the bid process cycle.
  • Strong research skills for identifying and analyzing project-specific expenses.
  • Expertise in quantity take-offs to ensure accuracy in contract specifications and pricing.
  • Solid computer skills, especially with estimation software.
