Multi‑Site Manufacturing – Corporate Role
Our client, a well‑recognized manufacturing company, operates several production sites across Canada and the United States. In a context of expansion, digital transformation, and harmonization of practices, the organization is looking to strengthen its corporate reliability center of expertise. The role of Director of Reliability (Manufacturing) is therefore strategic: it aims to define the vision, modernize standards, optimize assets, and support local teams in the evolution of their practices, operational maturity, and day‑to‑day challenges.
WhatYou Can Expect
1. Corporate Vision & Strategy
- Define and deploy the reliability strategy for all manufacturing units.
- Develop the corporate policy related to preventive and predictive maintenance, planning, and asset management.
- Establish and monitor strategic KPIs related to reliability, equipment availability, and maintenance costs.
- Continuously enhance reliability standards and programs to align with operational needs and industry best practices.
- Accelerate digital transformation (CMMS, IoT, predictive analytics, connected solutions).
- Lead and engage a team of 12 people (reliability experts, engineers, and technical specialists).
- Ensure alignment between initiatives, corporate priorities, and plant needs.
- Oversee parts management, planning, and scheduling to optimize resources and inventories.
- Support skill development through training, coaching, and continuous guidance.
- Lead internal audits to ensure compliance, quality, and maintenance performance.
- Support local teams based on their reliability maturity levels, adapting tactics and priorities accordingly.
- Diagnose operational issues, recommend solutions, and support their implementation.
- Evaluate and integrate innovative technologies: predictive maintenance, sensors, analytics tools, automation.
- Strong understanding of multi‑site manufacturing environments and industrial asset management.
- Mastery of reliability tools and methods: CMMS/SAP, preventive and predictive maintenance, TPM, Lean.
- Ability to build a corporate reliability strategy and harmonize practices across multiple sites.
- Influential leadership: ability to mobilize and guide dispersed technical teams without direct reporting relationships.
- Strong analytical skills, results‑oriented mindset, and ability to support equipment performance.
- High adaptability to operate in plants with varying maturity levels.
- Clear and effective communication skills in both French and English.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in maintenance, reliability, engineering, or operations within a manufacturing setting.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing or evolving reliability programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience supervising or managing technical teams (experts, engineers, planners, CMMS specialists).
- Comfortable collaborating with technical partners or engineering firms on large‑scale projects.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (10–20%) to support field teams.
- University degree in mechanical, industrial, or related engineering field, with a solid understanding of manufacturing asset reliability.
This role is a strategic opportunity for a leader who wants to significantly influence the performance of a complex manufacturing network. You will have a direct impact on asset reliability, operational efficiency, digitalization, and team development.
