Role and Context

The Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Maintenance (AME-M) assists licensed technicians with aircraft inspection, maintenance, and repair work. The incumbent progressively develops the technical competencies required to obtain an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in aircraft inspections and maintenance
  • Assist with the removal, repair, and reinstallation of components
  • Follow technical instructions from licensed technicians
  • Document work performed in maintenance systems
  • Perform certain functional tests under supervision
  • Prepare parts, tools, and equipment required for maintenance tasks
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Apply regulatory and internal procedures
  • Participate in practical and theoretical training
  • Comply with safety and quality standards

Position Requirements
  • DEC in Aircraft Maintenance (completed or in progress)
  • Working toward obtaining an AME licence – M category
  • Good understanding of engine systems
  • Strong manual and technical skills
  • Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
  • Availability to work shifts (day, evening, night)
  • Strict adherence to technical and safety procedures
  • Fluency in French is required for this position. A good knowledge of English is also required to interact with certain English-speaking clients or partners in Canada or internationally.

WAAS Aerospace Inc. is a Transport Canada–approved maintenance organization (AMO), operating since 2014. We operate from facilities in Saint-Hubert (YHU) and Québec City (YQB). We provide line and scheduled maintenance, avionics modifications, R&D, and 24/7 AOG support to help our clients minimize downtime and meet their operational constraints. Our parent company, Chrono Aviation, was founded in Québec City in 2012. Today, the group operates a fleet of 12 aircraft with a team of approximately 200 employees.
