Naval architecture technician

Concept Naval is looking for a Naval Architecture Technician to join its team from our Quebec office, offering a stunning view of the St-Lawrence river and the Château Frontenac. We offer a unique position through which you will have the opportunity to actively collaborate in various stages of ship design, modification, repair, and repowering projects.

As a Naval Architecture Technician, you will have the opportunity to :

Participate in design engineering aspects up through detail engineering;

Participate in stability tests and in writing stability booklets;

Take part in strength of materials calculations for structural verifications, inspections and shipboard surveys;

Participate in weight calculations;

Take part in projects to develop 3D models of various vessel systems;

Write up specifications and reports;

Work with all Transport Canada and classification society regulatory documents.

We are looking for someone who:

Has a college education in naval architecture;

Has from 3 to 4 years of experience in a similar position;

Masters the regulations and standards of the maritime industry;

Masters drawing, modeling and simulation softwares;

Is very comfortable in French (talking and writing) and is functional in English;

Is structured, methodical, autonomous and rigorous;

Adapts well to change in an environnement where agility is important.
