Tasks

  • Define, implement, and evolve ground support standards.
  • Guide and support engineers and technicians in applying best practices.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise geotechnical inspection activities.
  • Follow up on recommendations and ensure the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Actively participate in geotechnical risk management and incident analyses.
  • Update and optimize the ground control program.
  • Evaluate needs for geotechnical instrumentation and rehabilitation work.
  • Collaborate with external consultants and ensure consistency in technical approaches.
  • Contribute to planning and budget tracking related to ground control.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership in health and safety.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, standards, and procedures.
  • Perform any other related duties.

  • Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or Geological Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in ground control or geomechanics.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
  • Valid general explosives permit.
  • Completed FMTM modules.
  • Proficiency in Deswik software.
  • Desired profile
