The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Metallic & Forging Specialist to join our Materials & Processes (M&P) Engineering team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will work jointly with engineering, production teams, and our suppliers.
You will be part of the M&P team responsible for supporting the A220 aircraft program by providing advanced technical expertise on metallic materials, forgings, castings, and machining.
The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.
Your role as a Metallic & Forging Specialist will be to resolve design issues, approve part qualifications, and support supply chain and operations.

- Provide primary technical expertise in resolving Design, Certification, and Compliance issues interacting with Suppliers, Operations, and Quality.
- Perform technical reviews and approve Engineering Drawings, Manufacturing Techniques Sheets, Forgings/Castings Qualification, and Test Reports.
- Work in a Multi-Functional Team on cost reduction opportunities, structural modifications, and ensure designs meet M&P requirements.
- Work in close collaboration with Liaison Engineers to provide timely M&P technical dispositions for manufacturing and assembly issues.
- Ensure redesign activities meet environmental regulations impacting the A220 aircraft.
- Engage with the M&P specialists team and exchange information with other assembly sites to share technical knowledge.
- Document dispositions on M&P work files and provide clear visibility to management regarding emerging technical issues.
- Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities on a rotational basis during evening shifts and weekends.
- Degree in materials engineering, metallurgy, or mechanical engineering.
- Solid experience in the Aerospace industry directly related to metallic use (Titanium, aluminium, steel) in Aircraft Structures.
- Hands‑on experience in material testing, allowables establishment, and qualification of forgings, extrusions, castings, and machining.
- Extended knowledge of aerospace surface finishing (plating, anodizing), organic finishing, and mechanisms of wear and corrosion.
- Understanding of aerospace fasteners selection, qualification, and installation requirements.
- Proficiency in standard tools mandatory for the job (CATIA, Enovia, MS Office) and familiarity with industry standards (SAE, ASTM, OEM).
- Strong problem‑solving, project management skills, and ability to thrive in a cross‑functional team environment.
- Advanced level of English and Intermediate level of French (written and spoken).
