Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity? As a Portfolio Management Assistant with RBC Phillips, Hager & North Investment Counsel Inc., you will be responsible for working with Investment Counsellors on portfolio management work as well as for maintaining up-to-date knowledge on investment solutions as well as tax and financial planning issues. You will draft Investment Policy Statements as well as some client correspondence.
A key element is also the preparation of investment review presentations.
- Assist with the modelling, monitoring, and rebalancing of portfolios as well as inputting trades, when required
- Maintain all administrative functions, such as database management, mass mailings, preparation of presentation/meeting materials, correspondence, managing reports, spreadsheets, and completion of special projects
- Proactively identify client annual reviews and compile manager review schedules
- Ensure compliance to client mandate and portfolio models
- Track and manage cash holdings and balances
- Provide training/mentorship to new employees, as required, and back‑up to other positions, as needed
- Respond to various client inquiries
- Must‑have University degree in related field
- Level I (or any higher level) of the CFA Program administered by the CFA Institute and/or Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation
- Highly service‑oriented with good attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 apps
- Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients and do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs
