EVORETRO is a fast-growing consumer products company expanding across Canada, the U.S., Europe, and international markets.

As we continue to scale our distribution network, product portfolio, inventory, and international operations, we are looking for a hands-on Director of Finance & Strategic Planning to lead our finance function and help structure the next stage of our growth.

This is not a traditional accounting-only role
.

We are looking for a CPA who wants to be close to the business — someone who can understand the numbers, challenge assumptions, improve profitability, protect cash flow, strengthen financial controls, and help management make better decisions.

Reporting closely to the CEO and working with the leadership team, this person will lead and develop our internal finance team and collaborate with banks, accountants, tax specialists, government partners, and other external advisors.

The Role

As Director of Finance & Strategic Planning, you will be a key financial partner to the CEO and leadership team.

You will lead a finance team of approximately three people across accounting, bookkeeping, controllership, and financial analysis.

Your role will be to bring structure, visibility, discipline, and strong financial judgment to a rapidly growing international business.

You will help management answer important questions such as:

  • Where are we generating the strongest margins?
  • Where are we losing profitability?
  • How much inventory should we purchase?
  • How much working capital do we need?
  • How do we improve cash flow?
  • Where should we invest?
  • Which customers, products, countries, and channels are the most profitable?
  • What are the financial risks of a new warehouse, 3PL, market, or expansion project?
  • How should we structure pricing and customer programs?
  • How should we finance continued growth?
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial planning
  • Maintain rolling cash-flow forecasts and proactively identify liquidity requirements
  • Prepare financial dashboards and management reports for the CEO and leadership team
  • Analyze actual performance versus budget and forecast
  • Identify financial trends, risks, opportunities, and areas requiring management attention
  • Build financial models to support strategic and operational decisions
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations for leadership and EOS meetings
Profitability & Commercial Finance
  • Analyze profitability by product, SKU, customer, channel, country, and project
  • Support pricing strategy and margin optimization
  • Maintain strong governance around official price lists
  • Review discounts, rebates, customer programs, and commercial terms
  • Review private-label and special-project quotations
  • Support financial analysis for large customer opportunities and distributor programs
  • Identify margin leakage, unprofitable activities, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Help management improve overall gross margin and operating profitability
Cash Flow & Working Capital
  • Monitor and optimize working capital
  • Oversee financial analysis related to inventory purchasing and purchasing commitments
  • Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable performance
  • Help improve inventory turns and reduce excess or slow-moving inventory
  • Support purchasing decisions with cash-flow and profitability analysis
  • Monitor payment terms, customer credit exposure, and supplier commitments
  • Support foreign exchange and cash-management decisions
  • Proactively identify future financing requirements
Finance Team Leadership
  • Lead, structure, and develop EVORETRO’s internal finance team
  • Establish clear responsibilities, accountability, and reporting standards
  • Oversee the quality and timeliness of financial reporting
  • Strengthen month-end and year-end processes
  • Develop stronger financial…
