Overview

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Manager, Specialty Access & Infusions (Procurement) to join our Central Pharmacy team, to support the continued growth and planning of our over 300 acquired Pharmacy locations across Canada. We have support offices located in ON, MB and SK, however this role can be located anywhere in Canada. Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on candidate experience.

This role is remote, however will require travel across Canada and occasionally into the office for meetings as required by department leaders.

Job Description

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a Manager, Specialty Access and Infusions, to support the development and execution of our growing Specialty Pharmacy footprint and Infusion Services programs across Canada. This position plays a critical role in ensuring patients prescribed specialty medications gain timely access to their treatments through public and private funding channels. The successful candidate will also contribute to strategic manufacturer partnerships, procurement strategy, and the expansion of infusion services—particularly in Saskatchewan.

Responsibilities
  • Reimbursement & Special Authorization Support
  • Manage Special Authorization (SA) and reimbursement submissions for patients prescribed specialty medications across all Neighbourly Pharmacy locations
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, prescribers, and Patient Support Programs (PSPs) to gather required documentation and ensure timely coverage decisions
  • Navigate private insurance, public drug plans, and manufacturer-sponsored coverage programs
  • Track and follow up on submissions to minimize therapy access delays
  • Manufacturer & Patient Support Programs Engagement
  • Set up and manage direct manufacturer agreements that enable Neighbourly pharmacies to deliver clinical services in-house (e.g., reimbursement support, injection training, infusion services)
  • Build and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, PSP providers, and relevant industry stakeholders
  • Identify new collaboration opportunities with pharmaceutical manufacturers to expand Neighbourly’s specialty pharmacy and infusion service offerings
  • Ensure all agreements are compliant with privacy legislation, IMC guidelines, and internal compliance standards
  • Procurement Strategy
  • Leverage relationships with wholesalers to develop and optimize procurement strategies for select specialty molecules
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure equal access to programs and support services associated with these molecules
  • Identify cost-efficiency opportunities and support margin protection for high-cost specialty drugs
  • Infusion Services Support
  • Support the development of infusion services, with a focus on growing the business in Saskatchewan
  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships to manage the costs of infusion therapy while maintaining patient access
  • Ensure infusion service standards are followed to minimize patient risk and reduce the likelihood of adverse events
  • Work with internal teams to expand the reach and quality of Neighbourly's infusion offerings
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with developing specialty pharmaceutical programs is required
  • Licensed Pharmacist or Nurse is preferred
  • Familiarity with IMC compliance and healthcare privacy standards
  • Knowledge of specialty medications, infusion therapies, and clinical service delivery models
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
  • Strategic analytical skills to study problems and records and identify solutions
  • Team-oriented attitude to help other colleagues and departments
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel across Canada
