VITALL is looking to expand its growing and accomplished records management team with an enthusiastic and highly skilled Health Information Manager. We are seeking a detail-oriented Health Information Manager to manage the collection, organization, security, and integrity of patient health information. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate medical documentation, proper coding and classification of health data when needed, and compliance with healthcare regulations while maintaining the confidentiality and accessibility of patient records.

The Health Information Manager ensures the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of patient health records across all departments. This includes reviewing records for quality and compliance, processing requests for medical records, managing the flow of health information between departments and external entities, and maintaining organized, structured records for clients and patients.

Responsibilities
  • Review medical records for completeness, accuracy, and quality of documentation
  • Structure medical records into a standard format
  • Process requests for medical records on behalf of clients and patients
  • Maintain data quality and integrity
  • Ensure compliance with relevant privacy and security regulations
  • Manage patient consent forms and authorizations
  • Participate in platform and product testing and upgrades for health information technologies
  • Protect health information from unauthorized access, breaches, or security threats
  • Coordinate the transfer of information between departments
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of records, client information, and company information
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
  • Participate in regular privacy and security training
  • Adherence to company policies, following all privacy and security protocols
  • Other job-related duties may be assigned as required
Qualifications Required
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in health information management
  • Health Information Management diploma
  • Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and disease processes
  • Experience handling medical records
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of information management
  • Able to work with clinical personnel and corporate clients to obtain necessary health information
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven history of excelling in a team-based, collaborative environment
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field
  • Training or experience in a clinical, nursing, or information-science related field is an asset
  • Working knowledge of HL7 and FHIR
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Previous experience in a startup or high-growth company
