UX Writing Consultant

Job Description

• This mandate is part of a web content integration project resulting from organizational change: the consultant will be responsible for reviewing, adapting, and Harmonize existing content for integration into client's current website, ensuring alignment with brand voice and UX standards.
• The primary writing style is English, which distinguishes this project from most web writing projects in Quebec: impeccable English is a fundamental requirement, not an asset.
• The ideal candidate is a UX writer with 6 years of experience in a digital environment, comfortable in an agile context and capable of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (UX, UI, SEO, IT, product management).
• Knowledge of the insurance or financial services sector is a contextual asset, but mastery of UX writing and accessibility standards is paramount.
• This differs from a marketing or journalistic writer: the project requires a user-centered approach, not a promotional or editorial content-driven one.

• Bachelor's degree in communication, linguistics, or a related field
• 6 years of relevant experience in UX and digital writing
• Master's degree in interaction design (an asset)

• Mastery of UX writing principles, SEO, and accessibility
• Excellent writing skills
• Impeccable English and functional French
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Mastery of specialized digital and business vocabulary
• Proficiency in JIRA and Confluence (an asset)
• Knowledge of the insurance and financial services industry (an asset)

• 6 years of experience in UX and digital writing | AND | Full coverage: all 6 years must be in UX/Web writing, not general writing
• Mastery of UX, SEO, and accessibility writing principles | AND | All three areas must be demonstrable
• Impeccable English | Required | 100%: primary writing language for the project
• Bachelor's degree in communication, linguistics, or a related field | Required | 100%
• Experience in an agile environment | Required | Active participation in sprints or iterative cycles

• Functional French for internal collaboration | Required | Functional level required, not expert
• Specialized digital and business vocabulary | Required | Representative coverage: UX, IT, and common business terms

• Marketing or journalistic writer with no UX experience: the focus of this role is user-centered, not promotional.
• Profile with less than 6 years of UX/Web writing experience: experience in general writing or communications does not compensate for this gap.
• English-speaking profile with insufficient French: bilingualism is required to collaborate with the internal team.
• Profile with no experience in an agile environment: the agile methodology is explicitly mentioned as a condition for success.
