Position Summary

Reporting to the Divisional Controller, the Operational Buyer reviews, analyzes, and executes purchasing activities related to their assigned responsibilities.

The Operational Buyer is accountable to the Commodity Manager for the procurement of raw materials, parts, and standard services in the required quantities, quality, pricing, and delivery timelines to meet the needs of internal customers, while ensuring proper follow-up and coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate various material and/or process requirements
  • Analyze purchase requisitions in accordance with established procedures
  • Review supplier proposals, negotiate pricing, and delivery timelines
  • Issue purchase orders and obtain manufacturing drawings/specifications when required
  • Manage contracts and purchasing files
  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure product deliveries meet established deadlines and requirements
  • Update the system with the latest delivery information

    Identify and communicate critical situations to management
  • Visit suppliers to resolve issues as required
  • Maintain planning parameters up to date
  • Manage supplier performance through monitoring and feedback
  • Represent Program Supply Chain at operations meetings when required

Are You Our Ideal Candidate ?

  • College diploma (DEC) Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the aerospace industry (an asset)
  • Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Knowledge of an MRP / ERP system
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards (an asset)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a corporate buyer role
