Job DescriptionAs Director, Maintenance, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimization of the shipyard’s buildings, equipment, and services. Your role is to ensure the availability, compliance, and safety of the facilities to support production activities and the company’s strategic objectives. More specifically, you will:
- Define the long‑term vision and strategy for infrastructure management at the shipyard.
- Develop and implement the master maintenance plan for buildings and infrastructure.
- Optimize the use of infrastructure and propose continuous improvements.
- Control the facilities budget and optimize operating costs.
- Participate in planning major investments (CAPEX) and selecting strategic equipment.
- Coordinate improvement and modernization projects for the facilities.
- Collaborate on the shipyard modernization project.
- Supervise and develop the maintenance and services team.
- Ensure, in collaboration with the health and safety department, compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Contribute to the overall strategy for reducing risks related to facilities (safety, compliance, business continuity).
- Identify and implement energy efficiency and sustainable development initiatives.
- In collaboration with the subcontracting director, develop partnerships with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize the value chain.
- Assess and anticipate future needs in capacity and technology to support company growth.
- Develop a culture of collaboration, performance, and safety.
- Develop and monitor performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance, costs, reliability, and safety.
- University degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or operations management.
- Minimum 10 years in a senior position in industrial facilities management, including 5 years in a maritime or manufacturing context.
- Bilingualism. (English and French). English is required for this position, as the incumbent will be required to interact with our English‑speaking clients, partners, and suppliers.
- Asset – PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent.
- In‑depth knowledge of HSE standards and maritime regulations.
- Maintenance management (preventive, corrective, predictive).
- Proficiency in facility management systems (CMMS). (IT GUIDE ASSET)
- Knowledge of port infrastructure and heavy equipment.
- Leadership and management of multidisciplinary teams.
- Budget analysis and cost optimization.
