General Summary
We’re looking for a dynamic and digitally savvy Content Creator & Community Manager to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and executing content strategies across Cannara’s portfolio of brands Nugz, Tribal, Orchid CBD, and the Cannara Shop. The ideal candidate will blend creativity with strategic thinking, producing standout content that drives engagement while actively building and nurturing our online communities across social media and platforms like Discord.
You’ll also play a key role in shaping how our brands connect with consumers through modern storytelling, from short-form social videos and behind-the-scenes content to authentic community conversations that bring our culture to life.
Content Creation
- Develop and manage a comprehensive social media strategy aligned to each brand’s goals and voice;
- Create engaging, high-quality multimedia content (text, images, videos, infographics, memes) tailored for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), Linked In, You Tube, and Discord;
- Manage content calendars tied to product launches, campaigns, and marketing milestones;
- Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Creative teams to deliver content that showcases our products, culture, and community;
- Stay ahead of social and cultural trends, experimenting with storytelling formats such as Reels, Tik Tok, behind-the-scenes content, and series that deepen consumer connection.
- Monitor and actively engage with online communities, responding to comments, DMs, and questions in a timely and brand-consistent manner;
- Cultivate an interactive and positive community presence that drives loyalty and brand affinity;
- Grow and foster our Discord community through events, conversations, and content drops;
- Identify and collaborate with influencers, ambassadors, and strategic partners to extend reach.
- Track, analyze, and report on social performance metrics (reach, engagement, growth, conversions);
- Translate insights into optimizations for future campaigns;
- Deliver regular reports to management highlighting successes, opportunities, and ROI.
- Ensure all content and engagement activities comply with Health Canada’s cannabis marketing regulations;
- Maintain a responsible, ethical, and consistent brand voice across all channels, while giving each brand its unique personality.
- Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in social media management, content creation, or community management (CPG, cannabis, or regulated industries preferred).
- Strong understanding of social platforms, storytelling trends, and emerging content formats (Reels, Tik Tok, short-form video, behind-the-scenes content).
- Proven track record of growing communities and delivering impactful content strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable creating on-camera content such as product demos, live streams, and social videos, as well as representing the brand at events.
- Hands‑on ability to produce and edit photos and videos while maintaining brand standards.
- Proficiency with social media and analytics tools (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Later, Google Analytics).
- Familiarity with design and editing tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Cap Cut, etc.).
- Passion for cannabis culture and community.
- Knowledge of Health Canada’s cannabis marketing regulations is a significant asset.
- Experience with Discord or other online community platforms is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is an asset.
- Able to communicate also in French.
