Job Description

EOSOL Group is seeking a Port HSE Professional to develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, environmental, and security programs within port and terminal operations.

The professional will ensure regulatory compliance, promote a strong  Zero Incident  safety culture, perform site risk assessments, and oversee safety during heavy-lift operations, vessel handling, equipment maintenance, and contractor activities for wind energy components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct workplace safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across port operations.
  • Lead incident investigations, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and corrective action management.
  • Oversee permit-to-work programs (LOTO, lockout/tagout, confined space, work at height, hot work).
  • Monitor compliance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify contractor safety performance, training, and certifications.
  • Provide HSE oversight during vessel loading/unloading, cargo handling, heavy lifting, and rigging tasks.
  • Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks, and environmental awareness sessions.
  • Maintain accurate HSE documentation, logs, and regulatory compliance reports.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety preferred, or 5+ years of practical experience managing HSE systems.
  • 3+ years of HSE experience in port operations, marine terminals, heavy logistics, or project cargo.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Knowledge of heavy lifting operations and basic rigging & slinging principles.
  • Strong understanding of occupational safety, environmental, and port regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE management software.
  • English required.
  • French required for Quebec.
Working Hours & Conditions
  • Schedule determined by vessel unloading schedules
  • Availability to support emergency response activities outside normal business hours when required.
  • Physical ability to work outdoors, walk long distances, climb stairs, and board vessels.
Certifications / Training

Preferred credentials and training:

  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional)
  • ASP (Associate Safety Professional)
  • First Aid / CPR / AED
  • ASP Quebec Construction Training – mandatory for Quebec.
Freelance Terms
  • Independent Contractor / Freelance engagement.
  • The professional must be able to issue invoices for services rendered.
  • Please indicate your expected hourly or daily rate in CAD.
  • The contractor is responsible for their own tax obligations, insurance, and business expenses.
