Natural Resources Canada is searching for a PhD candidate to explore the intricacies of graphite from the Grenville and Trans-Hudson Orogens. You'll combine petrography and geochemistry techniques while working in collaboration with Nouveau Monde Graphite and NRCan laboratories in Ottawa. The research aims to define mineralogical criteria that guide industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Characterize micro-inclusions in graphite flakes

• Assess graphite crystallinity and its impact on inclusion retention

• Guide metallurgical processing through mineral criteria

• Conduct field visits and laboratory analyses

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in geology or Earth sciences

• Enrolled in a PhD program at l’Institut national de la recherche scientifique

• Experience with SEM, XRD, and micro-XRF

• Solid communication skills, both written and oral

• Autonomy and teamwork capabilities
