Take a leading role at Omilia as a Senior Linguist, focusing on enhancing our multilingual Text-to-Speech technology. Your work will ensure the highest linguistic standards in TTS output.
As a Senior Linguist, you will independently perform in-depth phonetic and phonological analyses. This role involves developing phoneme inventories, ensuring accurate language profiles, and mentoring teams for the best customer outcomes. Your expertise will play a vital role in the enhancement of voice experiences in diverse language contexts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Independently conduct phonological analyses for Canadian English and French
• Maintain and document language-specific phonetic features
• Produce structured profiles for TTS model evaluations
• Review machine-generated pronunciation outputs
• Collaborate with TTS engineers on linguistic artifacts
Requirements:
• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in a relevant linguistic field
• Experience with G2P systems and pronunciation lexicons
• Strong knowledge of phonological theory and techniques
• Proficiency in IPA and relevant phoneme notation systems
• Fluency in English with knowledge of another market language
