NSERC Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Electrochemical Technologies and Functional Materials for Environmental Energy Transition
The Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières invites applications for this Chair in the fields of energy, advanced materials, and related disciplines. The research will focus on electrochemical technologies, functional eco‑materials derived from critical and strategic minerals or renewable resources, and their application to the energy and environmental transition.
Research Focus
Optimization of critical and strategic minerals use in batteries, fuel cells, electrolyzers, etc., while integrating bio‑based materials.
Study of material aging in operando and assessment of environmental impacts (life cycle analysis, carbon footprint).
Development of technologies with enhanced performance under extreme climatic conditions.
Integration of advanced computational methods and AI for micro‑nano system development and complex dynamic systems.
Responsibilities
Lead an independent, innovative research program aligned with UQTR’s Strategic Research Plan.
Contribute to teaching and training of undergraduate and graduate students.
Foster intersect oral research within the Joint Research Unit and collaborate with partners such as the Hydrogen Research Institute, the Innovation Institute in Ecomaterials, and the National Integrated Centre for Intelligent Manufacturing.
Leverage local ecosystem to build industrial partnerships and engage with technology transfer centers.
Qualifications
Full professor (or associate professor eligible for promotion to full professor within one or two years).
Doctoral degree (PhD) in a relevant discipline.
Proficiency in French or willingness to acquire necessary proficiency.
Previous teaching experience considered an asset.

Annual salary determined by UQTR collective agreement for professors.
