Research Associate in Socially Responsible AI

Location: Quebec City

The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative environment within the philosophy and computer science departments. This position involves researching algorithms that address online social network polarization and improving decision-making through human-AI integrations. You will independently explore innovative solutions, contribute to scholarly publications, and have opportunities to mentor students, as well as apply for research grants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform independent research on socially aware algorithm design

• Engage in cross-disciplinary collaborations with faculty

• Publish findings in peer-reviewed academic journals

• Help supervise student research initiatives

• Actively seek funding through grant applications

Requirements:

• PhD in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Philosophy

• Background in machine learning or related technologies
