• Perform analyses on samples and complex sample preparation
• Follow SOPs to ensure accuracy and quality of work
• Ensure that quality control criteria are met for all reported data
• Approve data generated (Level I validation) for which the analyst has been trained and validated
• If required, validate data at Level II
• Sign the reports
• Generate reports with results and fax to the client
• Understand and troubleshoot analyses
• Provide input to corrective action procedures
• Ensure that deadlines are met
• Recommend SOP revisions
• Ensure instruments and equipment are appropriately maintained
• Use summary reports to plan and organize work
• Follow all laboratory safety rules and regulations
• Keep work area clean, neat and organized
• Contribute to daily and weekly planning
• Provide input to performance management
• Coordinate laboratory projects
• Implement and validate existing methods
• Write SOPs
• Follow up on contaminations and interferences with the laboratory
• Question results
• Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor or team leader

• B Sc. Biology or Microbiology (or MIFI equivalency)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an environmental laboratory
• Strong knowledge in ecotoxicology
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good record‑keeping skills and attention to detail
• Dynamic, energetic, motivated, positive outlook

• Work schedule:
  
  day/evening and every second Saturday or Sunday
• Available for overtime (1–2 h/day) from May to December (high season)
• Fast‑paced and dynamic environment
• Required to be on feet for long hours
• Status:
  Full time, 37.5 h/week
