Security Officer

Education

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

• 3 to 5 years in security or loss prevention
• Experience with audio‑video surveillance, corporate and mobile surveillance, fire safety inspection, and retail loss prevention

• Investigate unlawful acts by employees or patrons of various establishments
• Recommend security systems and enforce regulations to maintain order and resolve conflicts
• Operate security control room equipment and patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect shoplifting and theft
• Inspect buildings for structural defects, fire hazards, and environmental, fire safety, and accident prevention regulation compliance
• Assist clients/guests with special needs and check age identification of patrons
• Produce evidence reports and consult on security for commercial and industrial properties

• Class5/5F/G licence (cars, small trucks, and 2‑axle vehicles)
• CPR Certificate
• First Aid Certificate
• Security Guard Licence
• Computer literacy: MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Word

• Attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, and walking; standing for extended periods
• Work sites include retail establishments, construction sites, private security agencies, recreational centres, malls, and parks

• Cellular phone
• Standard security and surveillance equipment as required by duties

• Efficient interpersonal and oral communication skills
• Sound judgement, reliability, punctuality, team player, and a positive attitude

• Shift options:
  Early morning, Evening, Night, Day, and Weekend
• Will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis
