This temporary COOP position, spanning an eight‑month term from April to December 2026, is designed to support the development of a custom program that evaluates the material state of the Royal Canadian Naval Fleet. In this role, you will work with image‑based artificial intelligence models, develop internal tools to streamline survey processes, and enhance quality assurance capabilities. Additionally, you will inspect 3D models of naval vessels to assess their operational readiness and may be called upon to assist with other projects as needed.

• Artificial Intelligence Testing: Apply black‑box testing logic to determine algorithm behavior toward software programs.

• Quality Assurance: Evaluate software programs for operational readiness and user functionality.

• Material State Inspections: Maintain precision through multiple iterations of inspection and understand differences between key items.

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Software, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of two years of completed coursework.

• Proficient computer skills required to become proficient with specialized software.

• Experience with outputs delivered from Artificial Intelligence. Familiarity with image models would be an asset.

• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates who can perform the objectives above.

• Canadian citizenship, with 10 or more years residing in Canada with no periods longer than six continuous months out of country, is absolutely necessary for a government security clearance to the minimum level of Secret.
