Position: Engineering Manager for AI Applications

Lead engineering talent at Baseten as an Engineering Manager, focusing on LLM inference workload optimization and team growth. This hands-on role integrates technical ownership with leadership across customer-facing projects.

Baseten is seeking a Player & Coach to guide a team of Forward Deployed Engineers. The role demands significant expertise in AI and ML, particularly in Python programming and LLMs. Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to ensure optimal performance and reliability of generative AI systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mentor and grow a team of Forward Deployed Engineers

• Manage LLM deployment projects with high-quality delivery

• Align team goals with company and customer priorities

• Contribute to strategic product initiatives directly

• Design and implement Baseten solutions end-to-end

Requirements:

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in a relevant field

• 4+ years in software engineering with leadership experience

• Strong Python skills and experience with ML inference systems

• Familiarity with LLMs and optimization frameworks

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
