The Cree First Nation of Waswanipi is seeking a resourceful and highly motivated individual to fill the position of CHFC – Leisure and Sports Attendant within the Community Services Department.
Position SummaryThe CHFC – Leisure & Sports Attendant support the Leisure & Sports Coordinator and Programmer in planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating all aspects of departmental programming. Programming may include recreational activities and community events for children, youth, adults, and elders. The incumbent assists in managing both human and financial resources through the
development, implementation, and supervision of established policies and procedures. The position involves teamwork with the shared goal of promoting healthy living through physical activities and community engagement. A work schedule will be provided and will primarily involve evening hours, with variations depending on seasonal programming and scheduled events.
- High School Diploma; OR two (2) to four (4) years of related experience and/or training; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to speak Cree is required;
English is required;
French is considered an asset. - Ability to write reports, proposals, and business correspondence.
- Strong organizational, management, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Good general health and physical capacity to actively participate in events and activities.
- Must be bondable (good credit rating and no prior criminal record).
