Position: Baggage Handler (Station Attendant) - Airport - Part-time
Location: Quebec

Location: Ottawa, ON, Canada (on-site)

Starting Salary: $18.15 / hour for the part-time position

Department: Airports Canada & CX Strategy

Employment Type: Part-time

Shift premiums: Evening shift – $0.50 per hour worked between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Night shift – $1.00 per hour worked between 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

No experience required.

What will you do today?

As part of a dynamic team, you will collaborate with other team members to ensure aircraft are loaded and unloaded efficiently, ensuring the safety and punctuality of flights. You may be required to perform duties associated with baggage and connecting passenger luggage, or work on the ramp to execute the many tasks necessary for successful operations.

Job Requirements

In our workplace, teamwork is essential to ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet. This is physically demanding work that involves staying on the move airside and in the baggage room. Since our operations run year-round, you must be ready to work in all weather conditions.

To join us, you must:

  • Hold a valid driver's license – you will need to drive heavy equipment airside;
  • Be able to repeatedly lift loads weighing 32 kg (70 lbs);
  • Pass a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol screening test;
  • Be available to attend and successfully complete a paid, five- to seven-week full-time training program;
  • Be available to work rotating shifts over a 24-hour period (including weekends and holidays);
  • Pay attention to safety and security;
  • Demonstrate solid communication skills and the ability to work within a team, every day;
  • Show punctuality and reliability to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment;
  • Be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transport security clearance and additional authorizations (please consult the Transport Canada website for details);
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the country in question at the time the job offer is made. The search for any necessary work permits/visas or other authorizations is solely the responsibility of candidates for this position.
