Canyon State Academy is located on a scenic 180-acre campus surrounded by a farm, student housing for 300+ youth, a thrift store, café, barbershop, and church open to the community, incorporating life skills for our students. Along with a fully equipped weight room, football stadium, and athletic center (gymnasium, padded wrestling room & more), Canyon State has it all!

Pay: $19.00 an hour

The Medical Assistant works as a staff member of the Student Services team, primarily responsible for serving as an assistant to the entire Student Health Services Department. They coordinate the flow of students to be seen by the health care professionals within programs and schedule students to be seen by outside health care professionals. Depending on location, the Medical Assistant reports to the Medical Manager and/or Medical Coordinator.

• Documentation:
  Maintain accurate records of youth progress, behaviors, and incidents, ensuring compliance with program policies.

This role requires compassion, consistency, and a commitment to empowering youth to succeed.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification for Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant required
• Successfully completed QMAP training
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Pass criminal background check, drug screen (no THC), physical, TB test
• Pass search of the child abuse central registry

Two Shifts

A Shift – Days:
Sunday to every other Wednesday, 7 am–8 pm and 7 am–3 pm (1 hour break each day)

B Shift – Days:
Every other Wednesday to Saturday, 3 pm–8 pm or 7 am–8 pm (1 hour break each day)

Schedule subject to change based on the need of the program
