Quality Assurance Shift Operator
The Quality Assurance Shift Operator is responsible for testing, monitoring, and ensuring that rock insulation products meet internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements. The role supports production by performing routine lab tests on in-process samples and finished products, helping maintain consistent product performance and compliance.
What you’ll be doing- Conduct physical and mechanical tests on insulation products.
- Perform in-process checks during manufacturing runs.
- Ensure products meet specifications.
- Identify deviations and non-conformities in product quality.
- Communicate test results to production teams and supervisors.
- Record and maintain accurate lab test data and reports.
- Update quality control logs and databases.
- Assist in preparing audit documentation and compliance reports.
- Maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., ovens, furnaces, conductivity meters).
- Ensure proper handling and storage of samples.
- Support investigations into quality issues and root cause analysis.
- Assist in trials for new products or process changes.
- Recommend improvements to testing methods or procedures.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- 1–3 years in a laboratory or manufacturing QA or QC role (preferred).
- Experience in insulation.
- Knowledge of material testing methods and standards.
- Familiarity with lab instruments and calibration procedures.
- Basic data analysis and reporting skills.
- Understanding of ISO quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
