Seeking an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon
Coverage needed:
1-2 weekends per month
Possible future need for a 10-14-day stretch
Duties:
Take call only (no clinic)
Handle emergent cases that present
Round on any post-surgical or existing patients
Average 3 calls per weekend (CVU aims to reduce unnecessary calls by resolving issues during rounds)
Daily census: 7 patients
Referral source: Cardiology
Case mix:
Primarily managing CABG cases
Performing CABG if needed
Typical Day:
Morning rounding
As-needed visits for post-surgical patients with changes in condition
Minimum 5 years of experience
Active Illinois medical license
EMR: EPIC
