Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon Opportunity - Quincy, IL Seeking a skilled and dedicated Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to provide trauma and general orthopedic call coverage in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This full-time role involves managing acute orthopedic cases primarily through the Emergency Department, with a strong focus on general orthopedics including hip fractures, hemiarthroplasties, wrist and ankle fractures, and more.Position Details
- 24-hour call coverage, 7 days per week, with scheduled relief at least 1 night weekly
- Acute trauma case management from falls, vehicle accidents, hunting injuries, etc.
- General orthopedic procedures, averaging: - 2 cases per weekday - 3 cases per weekend (approx. 1.5 per day)
- Hospital consults to be addressed within 24 hours or sooner as requested
- Trauma response expectations: - Level I: 30-minute response - Level II: as requested - All others: physician discretion
- Clinic follow-ups post-call week (typically Monday and Tuesday)
- Block scheduling with 10+ days off per month
- Minimal after-hours call-ins
- Built-in recovery time after call shifts Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
- Fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma preferred, not required
- Proficiency in managing a wide range of orthopedic injuries
- Strong commitment to timely and compassionate trauma care Benefits Details
- Base Salary: $850,000 - $930,000
