Position: Field Service Technician Opportunity in Quincy, IL

Talon Recruiting has partnered with a leading heavy equipment distributor in search of a Field Service Technician to join their team in Quincy, IL. The Field Service Technician performs diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or company owned equipment.

Job Duties
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair construction equipment failures both in-house and at customer locations.
  • Perform repairs on equipment and accessories including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and diesel engines.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on heavy construction equipment in the field.
  • Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens utilizing company laptop and/or iPad.
  • Engages customers in a professional manner and anticipates prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of and capability in reading and understanding schematics and diagrams.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of, actively practice, and promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA and other required regulations dealing with safe operation of all equipment.
  • Prepare various reports as directed to maintain accurate records on equipment and preventive maintenance.
Experience, Education, Skills & Knowledge
  • High school diploma, GED required. Certification or degree in Diesel Technology Program preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience servicing and maintenance of heavy construction equipment.
  • OSHA-10 preferred
