The Senior Business Analyst supports a centralized IT leadership office in advancing technology initiatives and cross-functional programs. This role serves as a trusted partner responsible for gathering requirements, documenting decisions, facilitating stakeholder communication, and translating business, operational, and technical needs into clear, actionable deliverables.
The Senior Business Analyst assists with requirements management, process analysis, testing support, operational readiness activities, governance documentation, and cross-team coordination. This position works closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, project managers, vendors, and leadership to ensure technology initiatives are well-defined, documented, and aligned with organizational objectives.
Additionally, the Senior Business Analyst serves as a SharePoint and documentation steward, helping ensure governance materials, project artifacts, standards, templates, and key records are organized, maintained, and accessible.
Key Responsibilities Stakeholder Engagement, Communication, and Advisory Support- Serve as a liaison among business stakeholders, project teams, technical teams, vendors, procurement staff, and leadership.
- Gather and document stakeholder needs, questions, concerns, and requirements.
- Translate business, operational, policy, procurement, and technical information into clear documentation and communications.
- Track open issues, decisions, action items, and follow-up activities.
- Escalate risks, ownership gaps, unresolved decisions, and cross-functional impacts as appropriate.
- Lead or support governance, project, and stakeholder meetings.
- Develop agendas, meeting materials, action-item trackers, and decision logs.
- Facilitate productive discussions and ensure timely follow-up on assigned actions.
- Capture meeting notes, decisions, risks, issues, dependencies, and ownership assignments.
- Prepare executive summaries, status reports, briefing materials, and governance documentation.
- Conduct business needs assessments and assist in defining project objectives and success criteria.
- Elicit, analyze, document, validate, prioritize, and maintain business and functional requirements.
- Create requirements documents, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, process flows, use cases, gap analyses, traceability matrices, and related artifacts.
- Ensure requirements are clear, testable, traceable, and aligned to business objectives.
- Support project managers and technical leads through documentation, stakeholder engagement, and requirements management.
- Assist with project intake, analysis, prioritization, and status tracking activities.
- Document risks, dependencies, decisions, and implementation considerations.
- Help align project documentation with governance standards, reporting needs, and organizational practices.
- Analyze current and future business processes, workflows, system interactions, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with technical teams to evaluate solution options and support informed decision-making.
- Assess existing technologies, shared services, and enterprise capabilities before identifying new solution requirements.
- Support data mapping, reporting requirements, access controls, business rules, and procurement-related analysis.
- Assist with test planning, test case development, and user acceptance testing.
- Support defect tracking, issue resolution, and validation of requirements.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs.
