As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care, assisting healthcare providers, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your Impact- Patient Interaction:
Engage with patients in a welcoming and professional manner, addressing inquiries and providing assistance regarding medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications. - Medication Guidance:
Explain prescribed medications, including dosage instructions and potential side effects, and offer guidance on lifestyle modifications and preventive health measures. - Clinical Responsibilities:
Support clinical operations and patient care, including preliminary evaluations, vital sign collection, medical histories, phlebotomy, and assisting with minor procedures. - Medication Administration (prescription meds – NH & ME only):
Administer medications under supervision of licensed providers, ensuring accurate preparation and adherence to state regulations. - Collaboration with Clinical Team:
Communicate effectively with other team members, relay patient information, assist with discharge planning, and support training of new clinic staff.
- Must work 12‑hour shifts in consecutive or non‑consecutive days, with flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Full‑time: 3 shifts a week, at least 4 shifts a month on weekends.
- Part‑time: 2 shifts a week, at least 2 shifts a month on weekends.
- Per diem: 4 shifts a month, ideally 1 shift per week.
- Must be able to work at a minimum of three other Convenient
MD locations within a one‑hour travel distance and attend training shifts at locations within a one‑hour commute. - Travel for training shifts may occur outside of the primary clinic location.
- Education:
High school diploma or GED required. - Certification/
Experience:
Medical Assistant certification with at least one year of experience, or two years of experience as a Medical Assistant. - BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (CPR, ACLS, or online-only classes are not accepted).
- Compassionate, authentic, and patient‑focused, demonstrating kindness and understanding for others.
- Proactive and confident communicator, both written and verbal, comfortable with professional directness.
- Trustworthy, maintaining confidentiality and handling patient information in accordance with HIPAA.
- Effective cross‑collaborator, building positive relationships with patients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Excellent team player who enjoys collaboration and strong team dynamics.
- Technically savvy, proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and experienced with or capable of learning Experity and other business systems.
- 1–2 years of patient triage experience in an urgent care or emergency department (preferred).
Massachusetts Pay Transparency:
Hourly Pay Range for this Position: $20.22 – $28.02 per hour. Final compensation is determined at the conclusion of the interview process.
