Lead Dispatcher – Quincy, MA
Transdev in Quincy, MA is hiring an in‑person Lead Dispatcher. The Lead Dispatcher ensures the Dispatch team fills all routes and provides Operators with timely instructions and responses. We are seeking customer service‑oriented professionals dedicated to safety.
Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive compensation package: Minimum $23 – Maximum $27.
- Vacation: minimum two (2) weeks
- Sick days: 5 days
- Holidays: 12 days (8 standard and 4 floating)

- Oversee road service and trip performance measures (route start time, on‑time performance, incidents)
- Respond to customer questions and concerns about no shows, cancellations, and missed trips
- Manage vehicle operator emergency situations & escalated calls
- Supervise staff on weekends and evenings
- Manage department reports and other communication tools
- Support the Dispatch Supervisor in training new employees
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office and experience using paratransit scheduling software (preferably Spare) and ability to learn new software
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to supervise others
- Excellent knowledge of the RIDE service area streets, landmarks, and institutions including all major trip generators and transfer points
- Excellent knowledge of traffic patterns and their impact on paratransit operations
- Excellent communication skills in person, over the phone, and on a two‑way communication device
- Other duties as required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 2–3 years of transit supervisory experience (preferred); prior experience as a paratransit driver is a plus
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical (if applicable). DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason
- Must be able to work flexible schedules as needed
- Majority of work is accomplished indoors and in air‑conditioned or well‑ventilated facilities
- Majority of work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer
- Employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen
