- High School diploma, or GED equivalent
- Employment contingent upon successful clearance of Washington State Patrol, FBI fingerprint criminal history background check.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Always punctual.
- Must be accurate and efficient at completing tasks on time without constant/direct supervision.
- Ability to relate in a positive manner with students, parents, and staff/teachers, supervisory staff.
- Must be able to work effectively with small groups or individual students under the supervision of certificated staff.
- Always punctual. If absences are required, informs supervisor early enough so that normal work flow is not interrupted.
- Well groomed and has a neat and clean appearance. Dresses appropriately for job assignment.
- Ability to perform custodial care activities such as lifting and feeding students and helping them with such hygiene needs as toileting and grooming; diapering will be necessary.
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Promptly and accurately follows specific instructions, and performs duties with a positive attitude.
- Follows a duty schedule as assigned, with flexibility as changes are made.
- Follows prescribed behavior plans as assigned.
- Applies appropriate discipline according to district procedures and behavior plans.
- Builds a positive relationship with all students.
- Monitors activities to ensure safety and compliance with school rules.
- Willingness to provide emergency first aid as necessary.
- Physical ability to perform required duties.
- Other duties as assigned.

Substitutes are employed District may inactivate a sub from the active sub list at any time, with or without cause or notice and can cancel or deny substitute assignments. No person other than the School Board has the authority to bind the District to an employment contract or an agreement to modify the at‑will relationship.
