Data Center Technician job ncy, WA.
Job DescriptionWe are hiring Data Center Technicians to join our rapidly expanding team. In this hands-on role, you will support the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of the critical server infrastructure that powers cutting-edge AI and cloud computing technologies. Day to Day:
- Deploy and maintain data center hardware, including servers, racks, power units, and AI GPU clusters.
- Prepare racks and cabinets for installation, including patch cord management and proper device connections.
- Build and install equipment such as servers, network switches, power distribution units (PDUs), panels, and other infrastructure components.
- Install, label, and organize network and power cables (fiber optic and copper) according to industry standards.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with cabling, servers, and network hardware.
- Support data center buildouts, hardware deployments, expansions, and decommissioning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of cabling layouts, hardware configurations, and inventory.
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
- Collaborate with a team of enthusiastic and respectful IT professionals to deliver projects on time.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of hands-on technical work, skilled trades, or IT-related training preferred.
- Experience in a data center or other critical facility (e.g., telecom, electrical, manufacturing) is a plus.
- Comfortable using basic tools (e.g., cable testers, crimpers, punch-down tools) and following setup instructions.
- Familiarity with installing network cables, server racks, or data center hardware is a plus.
- Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards and best practices.
- Basic understanding of networking and IT fundamentals (e.g., IP addressing, switches, routers).
- Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. and remain on your feet throughout the day.
- Willing to follow instructions and work as part of a team to deliver high-quality, timely work.
Logistics:
- This is a long-term W-2 contract that is extended based on good performance with the team.
- On-the-job training provided, along with a weekly paycheck, holiday pay, and health insurance.
- Standard hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-4:30PM, with occasional extended shifts based on project needs. Advance notice will be provided.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety gloves, glasses, earplugs, and composite/steel toe boots.
- Must have reliable transportation, work onsite in Quincy, and pass a background check.
