The Controller provides financial leadership, analysis, reporting and financial support to operations and company leadership to help the company exceed its operational and financial goals. The Controller is a valued company resource who is a difference maker in the organization.
Responsibilities- Manage the daily accounting function including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, banking and other accounting functions
- Hire, train, develop and manage accounting staff
- Prepare accurate internal and external financial reports published on a timely basis
- Assure adequate financial controls are in place to safeguard company assets
- Coordinate and manage external reviews with company financial auditors
- Manage the annual financial planning process and prepare periodic financial forecasts
- Keep accurate records of tooling amortization, both the balances billed and to be billed as well as the balance remaining in inventory
- Prepare, analyze and distribute management reports
- Provide accurate inventory reporting and lead the annual physical inventory process
- Assure accuracy of production and tooling job costs and close them in a timely manner
- Provide the CFO with month‑end reports on AP, AR, inventories, sales and margins by part and customer, deferred revenue, variances, labor data and other monthly reports
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations of various accounts
- Perform various functions in our ERP system (Epicor)
- Provide skilled cost accounting and margin analysis and guide sales and operations members to make decisions that improve company performance
- Perform special projects and analysis as needed
- Report to the company CFO
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Strong Excel skills and an aptitude to learn additional skills
- 5-7 years of financial management experience
- Proficient in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); CPA certification desired
- Experience working with an ERP system
- Understanding of job cost accounting

The employee is required to talk and hear, sit, stand, walk, stoop, read and write. The position may require occasional lifting, pushing & pulling of objects. Vision requires close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
