- Register donors and walk them through the donation process
- Conduct medical interviews to ensure donor eligibility
- Perform venipunctures and collect blood with care and precision
- Prioritize safety for both donors and recipients
- Deliver exceptional customer service in every interaction
- Open availability is required between 4:00 AM and 10:00 PM, including weekends
- You’ll be scheduled for 8‑ to 10‑hour shifts, with schedules given 2–3 weeks in advance
- Schedules may change depending on operational needs
- Paid training: 4 weeks in a classroom setting followed by 4 weeks of hands‑on, alternating field training
- Attendance during the full 8‑week training period is required
Under direct supervision by department leadership, you will perform phlebotomy collection of whole blood and apheresis products. You will interact with donors and coordinators, providing a high level of customer service to deliver an excellent donation experience. You will take pride in and be committed to delivering high‑quality services, work cooperatively, and support team objectives. You may be responsible for engaging Spanish‑speaking donors depending on qualifications and business need.

Responsibilities- Prepare the collection site and perform set‑up, including technology systems (may include quality control)
- Perform donor screening (collect donor histories), mini‑physical, and phlebotomy
- Observe donors for reactions, provide reaction care, and assist other staff in handling reactions if needed; may provide post‑reaction care at mobile drives
- Conduct automation (Alyx and/or Trima), recognizing and responding to automation reactions; recruit and convert donors for automation
- Rebook donors for future donation appointments
- Understand and perform to all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
- Recognize when the customer is distressed and respond appropriately with tact; create a safe environment for donors and staff members
- Treat donors with customer service excellence, presenting a positive image; respond to inquiries, requests, and complaints in a timely and complete manner, escalating to leaders when appropriate
- May prepare and pack units for transport
- Maintain product integrity and ensure proper donor identification; perform routine maintenance on equipment and complete department records as needed
- May be eligible for additional skill‑based pay (driving, language, etc.); requires evening, weekend, and holiday work hours, and travel to other local collection sites as determined by business need
- Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
- Comply with all standard operating policies and procedures
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Less than 1 year of job‑related experience required
- 1–3 years of relevant people‑facing experience preferred
- Knowledge of standardized work routines and methods, general facts and information, and the use of simple equipment, machines, and materials; knowledge usually acquired through training on the job
