Compensation Range: $60.00/hr – $75.00/hr W2

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer (Architect-level) to join our team and support agile delivery of data solutions. This role involves assessing requirements, prototyping solutions, executing designs, and ensuring compliance with SCJ standards. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Synapse SQL, and business intelligence tools, along with proven experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Assess requirements and scope with the Data Engineering Lead.
• Prototype, design, and implement compliant data solutions.
• Conduct and document unit testing for all development work.
• Participate in design and review sessions with Product Owners.
• Communicate progress, blockers, and updates during Agile ceremonies.
• Manage user stories and tasks in Jira.
• Support UAT sessions, respond to queries, and resolve issues.
• Conduct impact analysis for modifications to existing objects.
• Develop and manage data mappings, transformations, schedules, and automation.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis to support business questions.
• Contribute to technical documentation (One Doc, DFDs, ADDs).

Requirements:

Must-Haves:

• 5+ years' experience in Data Engineering
• 3+ years' experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Synapse SQL or similar data warehousing platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query)
• 3+ years' experience in reporting and data analytics .
• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively across teams
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• BI/Visualization tools:
  Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar.
• Cloud data warehousing platforms:
  Azure Synapse SQL, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Snowflake, Redshift, or Google Big Query.
• Project tracking tools:
  Jira, Confluence, Trello, or similar.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Agile Certification.
• Azure technology certifications.
• SQL-related certifications.
• Degree in Technology, MIS, or related field.
