Hiring immediately for Painter / Assembler on 1st shift (5:30 a.m.
- 2:00 p.m.)!
API Heat Transfer is looking for people who enjoy being part of transformation. We have a new mission, new leaders, and are accelerating our path to Lean Cultural Change. Our Production team is expanding, and we are seeking Painter / Assembler for our Racine location.

- Quarterly attendance bonuses.
- Read and understand pick sheets to pull parts for assemble.
- Operate spray painters and other equipment to apply coatings to metal or plastic components.
- Monitor drying and curing processes to ensure proper finish.
- Inspect painted items for quality and correct any defects.
- Maintain and clean painting equipment and work area.
- Follow safety protocols, including use of respirators and protective gear.
- Assist in maintenance of paint systems and report equipment issues.
- Produce finished components per the specification indicated on blueprints.
- Check quality of parts, equipment, and assembled products at every step in the assembly process and notify supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
- Prepare units for shipment by constructing skids and boxes as required; paint, stencil, and affix nameplates as required.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of tools and equipment provided.
- Comply with all of the ISO 9001 Quality standards, policies and procedures of API.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Mechanical aptitude and a functional knowledge of hand tools.
- Must be able to wear a respirator, which may require being clean‑shaven.
- Experience in industrial or production painting preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and use a tape measure.
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
- Ability to navigate computer systems used to manage and track orders (Plex).
- Meet required Quality standards of your position and level.
- Meet required Productivity standards of your position and level.
Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8‑12 hours per shift).
Frequent walking throughout the production floor.
- Regularly lift and carry up to 25‑50 pounds.
- Occasionally lift heavier items (up to 75 pounds) with assistance or equipment.
Use of manual or mechanical means to push/pull carts, equipment, or materials.
Frequent use of hands and wrists for repetitive tasks (e.g., assembling, sorting, packaging).
Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small parts or tools.
Occasional use of ladders or steps to reach equipment or storage areas.
- Sufficient vision (with or without correction) to read labels, safety signs, and equipment gauges.
- Adequate hearing (with or without aids) to respond to alarms and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (hot, cold, or humid conditions).
- Exposure to noise, dust, odors, and manufacturing chemicals.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
